Exterior Stains

TWP Oil Stains and Armstrong Clark

TWP OIL STAINS

TWP (Total Wood Preservative) is a professional-grade, EPA-registered wood preservative designed to protect exterior wood from premature aging and decay. Known for its high-solids, deep-penetrating oil formula, TWP is a top choice for decks, siding, fences, and log homes.

The TWP Advantage

Unlike many retail stains that sit on the surface, TWP penetrates deep into the wood fibers to provide a long-lasting, breathable barrier.

  • Superior UV Protection: Contains unique UV-absorbing pigments that prevent wood graying and sun damage.

  • Water Repellency: Features high-performance water repellents to prevent moisture absorption, warping, and cracking.

  • Mold & Mildew Resistance: Includes an EPA-registered wood preservative to inhibit the growth of mold and mildew on the surface.

  • Easy Maintenance: Because it is a penetrating oil and not a film-forming coating, it will not peel or flake. Maintenance typically requires a simple cleaning and a light recoat.

Product Series Overview

  • TWP 100 Series: The original professional formula. Known for its ease of application and excellent longevity on cedar, redwood, and pressure-treated pine. (Note: Check local VOC regulations).

  • TWP 1500 Series: A low-VOC version of the 100 series, compliant in all 50 states. It offers higher solids content for enhanced durability and slightly richer color.

  • TWP 200 Series: Specially formulated for wood shingles and cedar shakes. This high-viscosity formula is designed to saturate and protect shakes from the elements.

The TWP 100 Series is a professional-grade, penetrating oil-based stain.

While the majority of the line is classified as semi-transparent, specific colors are formulated with
higher pigment loads to provide better UV protection, pushing them toward a semi-solid appearance.

Armstrong-Clark Oil Stains

Armstrong-Clark oil base wood stains offer a premier solution for protecting and

rejuvenating exterior wood surfaces. Unlike many modern alternatives, these are

traditional oil-based formulas—compliant in every state that utilize a unique

dual-layer system to provide professional-grade results.

The Dual-Layer Advantage

Armstrong-Clark oil base wood stains work through a combination of drying and non-drying oils.

  • Non-Drying Oils: Penetrate deep into the wood fibers to replenish natural oils lost to time and weather, restoring flexibility and preventing rot.

  • Drying Oils: Remain on the surface to lock in the conditioning oils and create a breathable, dry-to-the-touch barrier against rain, snow, and UV rays.

Key Features

  • Extreme Versatility: Can be applied in direct sunlight and on wood with up to 20% moisture content.

  • Simplified Maintenance: No peeling or cracking. Future maintenance coats require no stripping or sanding—simply clean and reapply.

  • All-Climate Formula: Designed to withstand the harshest environments across the United States.

  • Single-Coat Application: High solids content often requires only one coat, saving time and material.Multi-surface with Intelligent Grip™ technology

Interior Stains

Saman Waterbased Stains

Designed for furniture, cabinets, and moldings, these stains provide a foolproof application process
that eliminates common water-based headaches like grain raising or lap marks. The entire 200 Series is
classified as Semi-Transparent, meaning it is designed to highlight the natural grain of the wood
while providing a robust shield against the elements

The SamaN Advantage

Unlike traditional water-based products, SamaN utilizes a unique, stabilized formula that simplifies the staining process:

  • No Conditioner Needed: Apply directly to bare wood without the extra step of a pre-stain conditioner.

  • No Grain Raising: Engineered to keep wood fibers flat, reducing the need for intensive sanding between coats.

  • Foolproof Application: The "reactivation" technology means the stain re-wets itself during application, preventing overlap marks and allowing you to blend sections seamlessly.

  • Single-Coat Coverage: Highly concentrated pigments deliver deep, uniform color in just one application.

Key Features

This revolutionary water-based paint is suitable for all floors and interior woodwork within the busy home.

  • Odorless & Non-Toxic: Safe for use in enclosed spaces around children and pets.
